Brandie Hicks is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) whom earned her Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, in Psychology. Brandie is also a National Certified Counselor and has been a member of Chi Sigma Iota International Honors Society of Counseling since 2013. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans in August, 2015. Brandie focuses on counseling adults struggling with grief/loss, anxiety, and depression. She guides her clients using a cognitivebehavioral approach, which is collaborative and active. Activities such as arts and crafts, journalling, and viewing of various videos during or outside of session, assist in learning. Clients find that Brandie’s genuine and honest approach to counseling gives them the space to create, gain awareness, and make adjustments where needed to improve their wellbeing. Brandie believes in providing a safe and laidback environment, where clients can be themselves. Thus, clients are invited to make themselves comfortable (i.e. take off shoes, sit on the floor), and experience a moment of respite.
