Samonica Rose Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) whom earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans in Biological Sciences, with a Minor in Psychology. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in Counseling Education. Samonica is also a National Certified Counselor and has been a member of the Louisiana Counseling Association (LCA), as well as the American Counseling Association (ACA) since 2009.
Samonica has honed her skills in counseling in a wide variety of areas such as individual counseling, marriage and family counseling, couples counseling, PTSD counseling, substance abuse counseling, and group counseling. However, she specializes in Children and Family counseling dealing with a wide range of issues such as divorce/separation, anxiety, parenting skills, trauma, eating disorders, high-risk self-injurious behaviors, suicidal ideations, and coping skills. Samonica supports the family, parents and children, throughout the therapeutic process by using a family systems approach to guide her therapeutic practice. She offers support, space, and guidance for each family to explore, identify, and create meaning of who they are as individuals, as well as a family dynamic.
