Peter B. Crapanzano, M.D.
Dr. Crapanzano earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1992. He then completed a one-year internal medicine internship and subsequent psychiatry residency at The Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans. During his final year of residency in 1995–96, he served as chief resident in the Department of Psychiatry. He treats patients who are at least 21 years old, and he is board certified in the specialty of psychiatry by The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Since completing his residency, Dr. Crapanzano has worked in both the private and public sectors of medicine. He has obtained a significant amount of experience in providing treatment for various psychiatric disorders, including treating individuals with serious mental illness and comorbidity.
He provides initial psychiatric evaluations and psychopharmacological treatment while working with nonmedical therapists who are available to provide psychotherapy.
